Your private diver will meet you on the pier in Livorno nearby the ship following disembarkation with your name clearly displayed on an Amalfi Coast Destination meeting sign
From Livorno, the drive towards Florence where the first stop will be at Piazzale Michelangelo from where you will enjoy a breathtaking overview of the city in particular of the River Arno, Ponte Vecchio and of the Dome of Santa Maria Dei Fiori with its bell tower.
We will then proceed towards the historical city center reaching Piazza Duomo including the Basilica of Santa Maria Del Fiore not far from the Baptistery of St. John and Giotto’s Bell Tower.
At the Baptistery not to be missed the bronze doors with relief sculptures, in particular the east Doors by Ghiberti that Michelangelo considered to be ” The Gates of Paradise”.
We will then visit the Basilica of Santa Croce at Piazza Santa Croce.
This church is also called the Temple of the Italian Glories because some of the most famous italian artists and scientists are buried here : Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Donatello.
After lunch at a family run restaurant, we will continue to Piazza Della Signoria also enjoying a pleasant walk towards Ponte Vecchio ( Old Bridge) and theVasari Corridor that connects Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti.
This day tour will end visiting the Accademia to admire the David of Michelangelo or the Uffizi Gallery where there is a vast collection of Masterpieces by Leonardo Da Vinci, Raffaello, Caravaggio and Michelangelo
