Ravello

The road to Ravello is a slow uphill drive where you will pass several wineries and olive factories. Ravello is a rural village un spoilt by tourism, perched on top of a mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Famous for its breath-taking views overlooking the Amalfi Coastline, the natural beauty and ancient monuments are best exemplified by the exceptionally preserved gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo where the Ravello Music Festival is held.

Amalfi

An ancient maritime republic .This coastal town is situated on a seafront port and a long stretch of pebbled beach. In front of the port of Amalfi, is the only bus station along the coast. Beyond the central square ( Piazza Duomo ) lies the main shopping street of Amalfi, that ends at the furthest and highest point of the town. Along the pedestrian street are various bars and cafes, not to mention the many shops selling limoncello, casual apparel, swimwear, gifts, basic groceries, and of course, ceramics.

Lemon Tour

From the main square ( Piazza Duomo ) a pleasant walk along the main narrow street of the town of Amalfi leading to the enchanting Mills’ Valley ( Valle dei Mulini ), an area rich of lemon trees.

Lemons are one of the most important crops cultivated on the Amalfi Coast. Years ago, during the depression, the cultivation of lemons was relied upon to feed and maintain large families. They are now a world renowned symbol of the coast, growing to be larger than grapefruits and being used in everything imaginable; from sweets to liquors, pastas, salads and even eaten alone, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

A 3 hours guided tour that offers the possibility to admire private gardens lined with a succession of the worldwide famous ” Sfusato Amalfitano” lemon trees with their branches propped and wrapped in netting.

During the tour you will enjoy a stroll around family run lemon groves, get in contact with the hard-working farmers that work in the gardens, picking and caring for the fruit every day, a small break in the shade of an area equipped with tables and chairs allowing you to taste this amazing fruit used in everything imaginable; from sweets to liquors, cookies, pastas, salads and even eaten alone, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Also included a visit to a family run limoncello factory where you will have a demonstration of the production & tasting of this famous liqueur and multiple variations on the classic and of the new versions based on other fruits.

At the conclusion of the lemon Tour we will be pleased to arrange for you to have lunch at a family run restaurant off the beaten path where just the locals go.
